1. 1. 0

You've been trained for this.

You've studied this.

You've chosen this.

The man on the restraint chair across the desk looks into your eyes with a darkness unimaginable. This is your life now. Staring into the eyes of the most evil of men and women, smiling - trying to help them. To cure them. Nothing could've prepared you for this. All those years of studying, only to now start questioning your choices. Your sanity. But you can't leave. Not now. Your eyes travel to the security camera in the corner of the room, just above the thick steel door. You know you're watched. And you know who's watching you. Professor Hugo Strange. A man almost as terrifying as the patients in this place. You know that if you fail this test, you won't be seeing this room again. These halls. Professor Strange is harsh. He only hires the most hardened of people. You have to endure. You wanted this job. You need this job.

There's a file on the desk in front of you. A pencil attached to the desk with a short cord, and a small notebook. These are the only this not nailed to the floor or roof. The emptiness in the room only adds to that uncomfortable feeling. You look around for a clock. But there is none. You sigh, before reaching for the file, not taking your eyes off of the man in front of you. He's not wearing a shirt, but still wears his dark, dirty, orange pants labelled 'ARKHAM' across the legs. His body is pale and scarred, his head is shaved, and his eyes are round and emotionless. When you look closer, you see that the scares represents counting. With rows of slashes in four, crossed with one long scarr. Tally marks. Was this the days he'd spent in this place? Probably not. No, it must be something darker.

You've reached the file, and bring it closer to your face. 'Zsasz, Victor', 'serial murderer', 'sociopath'. 'manic depression', 'Insane', '143 victims'. These words... This piece of paper, with all these terrifying words and statements. Yet nothing compared to looking into the man's own eyes. They alone could reflect the deranged darkness within him.
